That Very Breath - David Matthews

Resources

Beverley Ashill worked with composer David Matthews while attending the Trinity Hospice in south London. The song describes the beauty of each breath, when breathing itself is overshadowed by lung cancer.

A rich source of information and free support is the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to funding medical research into lung cancer and to providing support for people with the disease. There is a free national helpline: 0800 358 7200. The charity also provides free booklets with specific information for sufferers and their families, including 'A Practical Guide To Breathlessness'. There is also a video available, called 'Take a Breather', which demonstrates practical techniques for coping with breathlessness.

Trinity Hospice provides full medical and emotional care for people with terminal illnesses around central and south west London. The hospice works with over 2000 people every year, helping them to live their lives to the full.
