Before cancer forced his retirement, Dermot Martin was a senior manager at the Royal Mail in England, so it wasn’t just 1916 that drew him to the GPO in Dublin. By accident, rather than design, this animation may be seen as a kind of Requiem for a working life in the Post Office. But Dermot never collected stamps.
